♦ Notes: Kateřina Zlatníková graduated at the top of her class from the Prague Conservatory in 1960, having studied cimbalom with Albert Pek. That year she won the Brno musical interpretation competition. Alongside appearances with major orchestras including the Vienna Philharmonic, Berlin Philharmonic, Orchestre de Paris and La Scala, Milan, she has pursued solo performance and composition for cimbalom. She was among the musicians who brought the cimbalom from its folk-instrument origins into the concert hall. Many composers have dedicated works to her: more than 80 pieces were composed, all premiered by her. In 1991 she was a founding member of the Cimbalom World Association. She received the Johann-Wenzel-Stamiz Prize in 1994.
